Epilepsy and the Ketogenic Diet

Ketogenic Diet:

This high-fat, low-carb plan is effective for treating certain types of epilepsy, used most frequently in children with seizures that have not responded to medical therapy. The diet requires careful planning and may be difficult to follow, so it is usually not recommended in older children or adults. It usually begins in the hospital, and when successful, it is most often maintained for two to three years.

A healthcare professional may also recommend a ketogenic formula to aid in the epileptic’s journey.

Our most popular ketogenic formula is KetoCal 4:1 Liquid.
